Ronda: "I knew you were working so I tried to work too..."

The Daily Writer - from Brock Swinson

Good morning,

I got a lot of feedback from yesterday’s post.

Some of you enjoyed the “truth” of it.

Others appreciated the “sharing of scars.”

Many just replied with a kind word of encouragement.

But one of you took me up on my offer and joined me in the early hours…

Enter Ronda:

“I cleaned myself up, got prepared to write…

Tried to log in — Zoom wanted an update.

So I wrote while Zoom had its coffee too.

Zoom opened, alas — you were either gone or didn't see me — which if you were working — you shouldn’t have anyway…

I knew you were working so I tried to work too.

But in that 90 minutes, which I would not have invested had you not made the early morning invitation turned into…

(6-7:30 am, 1539 words) 1539/90 minutes = 17.1 words / minute.”

I’m sorry I missed you, Ronda.

You’re right. I was heads down by that time…

Chipping away at my documentary script and an upcoming offer.

Penning a to-do list for the day…deciding what else I might be able to get done while also caring for our toddler.

But I’m so thrilled to know you were there, too.

I hope more writers join us tomorrow.

And that has me thinking, how can I better extend this invitation…

What time block might you join a co-working session?
